We understand the challenges for local business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs to get the continuing education they need to help their businesses grow.  To better serve the needs of our business community, we offer free, locally held classes and workshops.

Summer 2010

QuickBooks for Business 1st session
July 27th and August 3rd, 
9:00 am – 4:00 pm, Mill City Middle School

In this comprehensive 2-part course, participants will learn how to set up a company, create a foundational chart of accounts and understand the relationship between forms, lists and registers.  Participants will also learn how to create an accounts payable and accounts receivable system, generate and interpret reports, create an inventory system, and estimate time tracking and job costing.  To allow for more interactive time with the instructor, space in this class is limited.  Early registration is recommended!

Identify Your Target Market and How to Reach It 
July 28th, 8:00-9:30am at the Trexler Farm at the Old Mehama Fish Hatchery, Hwy 22 and Ferry Road.
The Key to successful marketing is being clear about where your aim needs to be.  By understanding the tangible and intangible product, service and experience you are offering, you can identify your target market and make better decisions about spending your time, money and energy attracting new customers.  Make marketing easier!

 
Website Development 
August 9th and 10th, 6:00-8:00 pm, Mill City Middle School
This course will provide participants with skills to design a basic website, how to update and add content to an existing website.  It will also look at the pros and cons of doing website work in-house versus outsourcing.  If it isn’t your intent to design your own website, this class will give you a basic understanding of what goes into designing a webpage and the technical jargon that will put you on an even playing field when consulting with a professional website developer.
